Friars Moor Livestock Health Terms and Conditions of Business

Friars Moor Livestock Health Ltd consists of three RCVS Accredited Branches:

Costs

All fees, counter sales and drugs are subject to VAT. Fee levels are determined by the time spent on a clinical case, advice given and the drugs, materials and consumables used.

Detailed invoices will be produced for every visit, surgical procedure and transaction and sent as a statement once a month.

Methods of Payment

Accounts are due for settlement at the end of the month. The account may be settled using BACS, cash, cheque (with bankers card) or credit/debit card – MasterCard, Visa, Delta, Switch. Our bank details are : Lloyds TSB, Sort code 30-92-69, Account number 22877860.

A discount on drugs is available for all clients who clear their accounts by the 26th of each month. Contact the Farm Operations Manager at the practice if you would like to make this available to you.

Estimates

We can provide an estimate for the probable costs of a course of treatment. Any estimate can only be an approximate, an animal’s illness will not always follow a conventional course and unforeseen expenses may occur.

Terms of Business

Any account not settled within 30 days will be referred to our credit control department. If for whatever reason, you find yourself in difficulty settling the account, we urge you to contact the Farm Operations Manager at the Sturminster branch in confidence to discuss possible solutions. After due notice to you, any overdue account will be referred to our debt collecting agency, further costs maybe incurred in respect of collecting the debt.

Any cheque returned by our bank as unpaid, any credit card payment not honoured and any cash tendered and found to be counterfeit will result in the original account being restored to the original sum and further charges may be added in respect of bank charges and administrative costs.

Veterinary Care

We will provide veterinary services in accordance with the standards denoted in the RCVS guidelines for practice standards and the professional conduct of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.

Veterinary care may be withheld from clients who are aggressive and/or abusive to staff members.

24 Hour Emergency Care

Friars Moor Livestock Health provides 24-hour emergency cover. This means we can provide immediate first aid and pain relief to deal promptly with emergencies at all times.

We have a dedicated small animal vet on duty every day of the year (including public/bank holidays) – in an emergency telephone Sturminster Newton surgery on 01258 472314. Out of normal surgery hours the call will be automatically redirected to our out of hours service.

There is an additional cost of providing professional emergency attention outside routine hours. Please call the practice if you would like further details. There may be occasions when a veterinary surgeon may decide that non emergency treatment should be delayed until normal working hours.

Ownership of Records

The care given to your animal may involve making specific investigations, for example taking blood tests or performing ultra sound scans. Even though there is a charge for carrying out these investigations and interpreting the results, ownership of the resulting records, clinical or otherwise, remain the property of the practice. Case records will, on request, be forwarded to another veterinary surgeon taking over the case.

Friars Moor Livestock Health has been approved by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as a Practice Standards Farm Accredited Practice, and we strive to maintain high standards at all times. We take customer service very seriously and hope you never feel the need to complain about the standards you have received from us. However, if you feel there is something you wish to discuss please contact the Practice Manager during normal office hours.

No addition or variation of these conditions will bind the practice unless it is specifically agreed in writing and signed by one of the Directors. No agent or person employed by or under contract with the practice has the authority to alter or vary these conditions in any way.
