The economics of running a suckler herd are very tight, with income being primarily dependent on the annual sale of weaned calves, stores or fat cattle. Subsequently, it is very important to maximise the reproductive performance of your cows and bulls and the health and growth of the calves born.
The Suckler Benchmarking Group aims to improve productivity and profitability through the sharing of knowledge between farmers and the benchmarking of their performance data. Membership includes one hours herd health planning time, where data is recorded and a calendar of actions generated, alongside quarterly group meetings.
Please call the practice for more information if you would like to be part of the group. We welcome all potential members to their first meeting FOC.
